【Abstract】 In the Sichuan asbestos deposit there have been identified four species of serpentine mineral: chrysotile, povlen-type chrysotile, lizardite and antigorite. Their characteristics pertaining to morphology, crystal structure, chemical composition and infrared spectrum are described and discussed in this paper. Chrysotile occurs in the form of slip-and cross-fiber veins and consists mainly of clino-chrysotile, with small amounts of ortho- and para-chrysotile. Slipfiber asbestos is probably formed by water of meteoric-hydrothermal derivation at relatively shallow levels in the crust. The povlen-type chrysotile is a new variety of serpentine mineral. Its morphology, crystal structure and chemical composition are different from those of other serpentine minerals.更多还原
