【Abstract】 This paper describes the mechanism of an EPROM (erasible programmable read-only memory) and the fast-writing mode. For instance, to write a 27256 in the normal mode ( programs with one 50 ms pulse ) requires about 1600 seconds, but the high speed mode (high speed programming algorithm-programs with typical two 1 ms pulses ) requires only 104 seconds.
