【Abstract】 Thirty two pieces of ear cartilage, 12 pieces of rib cartilage from 18 adult rabbits were implanted subcutaneously, intramuscularly. It was noticed after 6 months that most of the grafts were unchanged in size, except one piece of ear cartilage being absorbed to a great extent postoperatively. Proliferation of chondrocytes, focal calification and ossification and degeneration of nuclei could be seen in some grafts under microscope, These changes were not related to positions of implantation.Twenty-four ear cartilage grafts from twelve baby rabbits were transplanted. Grafts in two rabbits increased in size and became thickened. Proliferation of perichond-rium and neochondrocytes appeared in another three, there was no sign of growth in the rest,Perichondium graft is able to form cartilage but not in all cases. Elastic cartilage formed in five out of seventeen rabbits’ ear perichondium grafts (that is, 29.4%) in this study.更多还原
