【Abstract】 The present paper deals with a species of Sarcocystis which forms macroscopic sarcocysts in the water buffalos (Bubalus bubalis) of South China.Three cats were fed with macroscopic sarcocysts dissected from the oesophagus of a water buffalo. Sporocysts were first found in +hcir feces on the 8thor 9th day after feeding. Fifty sporocysts measured 12.8(12.5-13.1)×8.6(8.3-9.4) um in average.Fifty bradyzoites in BBS measured 18.1(15.7-19.7) ×3.9(3.3-4.7)um in average.EM study revealed that the cyst wall of this parasite forms protrusions which have the characteristic ’cauliflower appearance’ and contain filament elements.The above study indicates that this parasite should be Sarcocystis fusiformis.更多还原
