【Abstract】 This special issue offers new empirical work dealing with forest ecosystem researches in recent years in abroad. The following three subjects, accumulation of biomass, net primary production and its distribution in a forest ecosystem, cycling of nutrients, and development of forest ecosystem or succession, are given in a minute description.
