【Abstract】 By dam group in small watershed is meant a system of flood-detention dams, production dams, flood-retaining dams as backbones in gully, with small watershed as the basic unit. The author’s opinion on the guiding ideology in planning and principles of designing systems of silt-arresters in small watersheds is such that as a constituting part of the comprehensive system of prevention and remedy of erosion in small watershed, dam group should be laid out on the basis of unified programme well coordinated with improvement of slopes, with the final aim of attaining balance of yield and detention of runoif and sediment,the watershed taken as a basic unit. The theory and methods of designing small reservoirs should be employed carefully and not without due analysis. The particularities of silt-arresters mainly to detain floodwater and silt, the high flood peaks, small volumes of runoff and short dura tion of floods of small watersheds should be heeded to, and the planning, hydrologic computations and engineering designs of silt-arresters are to be based on the aforesaid, in order that they may play a dominant role in management of small watersheds.更多还原
