【Abstract】 A ten week feeding test of irradiated foods on fifty-eight human volunteers ( 31 males and 27 females) was performed. The volunteers were randomly divided into two groups. The test group of volunteers consumed frozen duck (250g ) and liquid egg (100g)daily after these foods were irradiated with 2.5 kGy and 2,0 kGy, respectively. The control group ate the same amount of non-irradiated duck and egg.Parameters, including heamatological indices, liver and kidney functional tests, serum enzyme activities, urinary 17-hydroxycortisol, chromsome aberration assay of Perlpheral blood lymphocy tes, were examined before and after consumPtion of irradiated foods. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups consuming .irradiated and non-irradiated foods. It confirmed that irradiated foods are safe and acceptable for human beings.更多还原
