【Abstract】 With concentrated phosphoric acid industrial alkylsulfonate was desulfonated into correspon-dent alkanes. The later were extracted with petroleum ether and then determined by GC. Thenumber average molecular weight of the industrial alkylsulfonate can be calculated through thenumber average molecular weight of the alkane and the value of-SO₃Na.
