【Abstract】 This paper describes the asymmetric synthesis of the β-phenyl lactic acid and its methyl ester.R ( + )-β-phenyl lactic acid, S ( - )-β-phenyl lactic acid and their methyl esters were obtained by Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation in combination with the regioselective opening of epoxide by the catalytic hydrogenation. The chemical structures of these compounds were confirmed by means of 1H-NMR spectrum, IR, MS and elementary analysis. The enantiomeric excess was determined by 1H-NMR in the presence of Eu(hfc)3 or by conversion to the MTPA esters followed by 19F-NMR analysis. The absolute configuration were confirmed by circular dichroism.更多还原
