【Abstract】 This paper reports a rapid separation method for the saponin of sanchi ginseng by the rotating-disk thin layer chromatography （RDTLC）. The silica gel thin layer plate with 2.5-3% sodium oxalate was used, and gradient elutiou was Carried out with different proportion of dichloromethane-methanol. The crude Saponin without pretreatment was subjected to RDTLC, then the fraction eluted with 28.6-50% MeOH （in CH₂Cl₂） was subjected to the RDTLC again, affording saponin Rg₁.
