【Abstract】 A comparison was made between the indices of the first and second derivative of the left ventricular pressure in relation to their inotropic sen- sitivity and preload,afterload and heart rate dependence in 14 rabbitts. （d²p/dt²）_max is 1/3 more sensitive to inotropic stimulation than（dp/dt）_max. Both Indices were increased with preload,afterload and heart rate（HR）, but the difference of their dependence load and HR was not statistically significant.The results suggested that（d²p/dt²）max be a useful index for ventricular performance and superior to（dp/dt）_max更多还原
