【Abstract】 Increased application of chemical fertilizer , which has broken the closed cycle of organic agriculture for thousands of years , is a prerequisite for the transition of traditional agriculture to modern agriculture . Shanxi ’s increased food production is positively and closely correlated with the increased application of chemical fertilizer , the correlation coefficient being 0.9486 . For further development of Shanxi’s agricultural production , it is necessary to increase the input of fertilizer , to take the road of using inorganic farming to promote the organic farming, or to effect the integration of inorganic farming with organic farming.
