【Abstract】 The authors of this paper took part in the investigation of the geomor-phology and Quaternary geology of the coastal region of Guangxi from 1983 to 1986. Based on the investigation and previous work and the results of the core analysis from 164 holes in the studied region and 23 samples in the sea area, studies have been made in sedimentary fades and rhythm, spore, pollen and paleoclimate, paleomagnetic, thermoluminescene and C14 dating. The Quaternary strata in the coastal region can be divided into Zhanjiang Formation of lower Pleistocene and Shimaoling volcanics, and Beihai Formation of middle Pleistocene and Huguangyan volcanics and Lufong Formation of upper Pleistocene. Furthermore, the Holocene can also be subdivided into lower, middle and upper parts.更多还原
