【Abstract】 In old age, the presence of fibrotic tissue in the lower and middle (lingular) lobes results in decrease of lung size, presence of abnormal linear and mottled shadows and narrowing of the vascular markings. As the sequence of redistribution of blood flow, the markings of upper lobes become widened, and the appearance of which makes no difference from that caused by incompetence of the left heart. Often due to presence of old lesions in upper lobes in elderly persons, the vascular markings may not become dilated. The diameter of the right lower pulmonary artery will be modified by the lung size, arterial pressure and degree of degeneration of the vascular wall. In the diagnosis of PVH, the left ventricular enlargement is an indirect sign of significance.更多还原
