【Abstract】 Taking into consideration of the difficulties in Populus tomentosa hybridization, the strategies for its breeding program have been discussed. Because of high heterozygosity and low seed production, Populus tomentosa is too difficult to be used as maternal parents. To overcome awkward predicaments, the author used the hybrid white poplars as the crossing maternals,combining the double cross and back cross with the radiation of seeds and pollen. Finally a great number of hybrid seeds of P. tomentosa were obtained, and a large number of promising super clones were selected from the hybrid seedlings.更多还原
