【Abstract】 The functional changes of different immune cells after severe exercise in rats andin humans were observed.In rats exercised exhausting with a load on the tail for2h,the hydrogenperoxide(H2O2)release from peritoneal macrophages was significantlydecreased from 16.5±0.99nmol/2×106 cell·hour to 12.3±1.27nmol/2×106 cell·hour.This supperssive effect could be partly reversed by subcutanous injection of opiateantagonist naltrexone(10mg/kg).In healthy volunteer exercised bicycle ridind for1.5h,the number of T lymphocytes and monocytes in peripheral blood was signifi-cant lowered,the erythrocyte-rosette percentage of T lymphocytes was reduced from59.21±2.92% to 49.3±2.62%(p<0.05),and auto-lymphocyte mixed reaction wasdecreased from 12724+2001 cpm to 6135+2212 cpm(p<0.05).The results suggest thatsevere exercise may suppress the functions of different immune cells and that endo-geneous opoioids may play important roles in mediating this effect.
