【Abstract】 96 patients with esophageal cancer were treated by radiation alone or in combination with "494" an extract of a Chinese herbal medicine - trama-tes cinnabrina in a prospective randomized trial from 1981 to 1982. In the combination group (66 Gy and "494" 15 mg t.i.d. for 90 days) gave 1, 2, 3, 4 year survival rates of 62.5%, 43.8%, 41.7% and 33.3%. In the radiation alone group, the 1, 2, 3, 4 year survival rates were 64.6%, 41.7%, 29.2% and 27.1%. It seems that no significant difference exists between the two groups.更多还原
