【Abstract】 The efficacy of β-irradiation for disinfection of different Chinese medicines in laboratory was observed. The experimental results indicated that the germicidal efficacy of β-irradiation for disinfection of raw materials of Chinese medicines was improved by increase of the radiation dose. The optimal radiation dose for the six Chinese medicines tested was 3400 Gy.In radiation disinfection, change in dose rate would not influence the germicidal efficacy if the total dose is within the effective range. But high dose rate can accelerate disinfection.The sensitivities of various bacteria strains to β-irradiation were found to be different and the germicidal results of different Chinese medicines by β-irradiation were also different. It is, therefore, necessary to consider thepossible contaminating bacteria and the Chinese medicine to be treated in selection of the radiation dose for disinfection.更多还原
