【Abstract】 The statistical analysis of census of Hunan Pr-ovince in 1964 and 1982 is presented in this paper.The results were as follows:1.The coefficient ofaged population over 60 years in Hunan Provinceincreased from 5.94% to 7.73%,while that of chi-ldren decreased from 40% to 33.94%,the mediannumber of population age increased from 19.76 yearsto 22.50 years.These indexes indicated the model ofpopulation of Hunan Province was changed from atypical“youth model”to the“adult model”.The agedpopulation was gradually increased and therefore,in prediction,the society of Hunan Province willenter the“society of elderly model of population”30years later.2.The characteristics of regional distri-bution of aged population in Hunan Province:Mo-untain district hills and plain around lake district(P<0.001);county population city population markedtown population.3.The characteristics of sex distr-ibution of aged population:Sex proportion of totalpopulation was 108.07(female=100),senile period90.96,longevity period 38.12 and over 100 years27.14.4.The average life expectancy of Hunanpopulation in 1981 was 65.43 years(male 64.19,female 66.73),which was lower than that of wholecountry(67.88)in the same year.5.In combiningwith the other indexes,we predict the aged popula-tion coefficent of ever 60 years is 7—12%,a refer-ence index for determining the population model.This paper indicated that the geographical env-ironment had certain influence upon longevity.In therecent years,following the prolongation of averagelife expectancy of population,the long-lived subje-cts increased in the city.If We completely utilize thebeneficial factors and avoid the unfavorable factors,then the longevity is hopeful.Because of the incre-ase of aged population as the age advanced,the gr-adual decrease of sex proportion and the increase ofthe proportion of female aged population,we suggestin strengthening the health care of the aged,at thesame time,we have to decrease successfully the m-ortality of the male aged and this is an importantmeasure to prolong the life expectancy of the totalpopulation.Therefore,it is our duty to pay specialattention to the research work of gerontology and g-eriatrics.更多还原
