【Abstract】 A continuous arc automatic following furnace has been proposed in this paper. Advantages of this furnace are:self regulation of the arc length; follow specimen automatically; being unaffected by the difference in shape or grain size of sample; without addition of accelerator; high tem-’perature and achieving a perfect sparking rate etc. It can be connected with various types of other instruments for determine carbon and sulphur and with safety in operation.
