【Abstract】 This paper presents an analysis of the shear bearing properties of continuous reinforced concrete elements under concentrated loads.By comparing the differences between the simple supported and continuous beams,the authors present two concepts:“similar indirect loading” and “similar indirect support”.The main cause of the difference in strength between the two kinds of beams is due to the “similar indirect support”.Based on this conclution, the authors have derived the calculating method which was proved to be satisfactory after testing 89 beams.Therefore,the calculating methods of simple supported and continuous beams have been unified and co-ordinated更多还原
