In this paper, by use of the initial potential temperature in the boundary layer, the given potential temperature of the ground and its temporal evolution and the geostrophic wind speed, a method of predicting the temporal variation of the inversion height is suggested according to the numerical integration of Nieuwstadt's equation. The results of our computation are compared with some actual observation in Changzhou and the results are in agreement with the latter.
