【Abstract】 Based on the Chinese Thesaurus, an experimental English-Chinese machine-aided on-line indexing system called EMAOLIS-2 has been developed on a VAX-11/780 computer. It consists of a word-library and an on-line indexing software capable of providing multiple ways of searching indexing words for indexers and enabling them to look through the thesaurus on the terminal screen easily, thereby merging many indexing steps like the search for the most exact indexing term, the automatic conversion of subject words, the generic posting, the description of indexing terms and the counting of the frequency of subject words used into one.更多还原
