南极普里兹湾及其沿岸夏季深层水的涌升

【Abstract】 Based on the data obtained from XBT and CTD of the First Internatinal BIO- MASS Experiment (FIBEX) in the January--March 1981. We described briefly the main hydrographic characteristics of the upwelling region in the prydz Bay and off shore and attempt to made an explanation of them. It is clear that lower temperature, higher salinity, dense density and higher nutrient salt is main feature in the surface and subsurfacp of the upwelling region in the off shore of the prydz Bay, but higher temperature, salinity and density in the Antarctic Divergence Zone. The cause may be divided into two sorts, one is surface water divergence in the interface region between the west wind drift and the east wind drift formed in the polar easterlies. The other is that water upwell along the slope as sea water flows from the lower latitude to the higher latitude. Upwelling plays a part of important role to the development of the BIOMASS.
