【Abstract】 This article is based on the systematic investigation on physical property (e. g. density and magnetism) of the rocks on land and offshore the northern South China Sea. It has introduced the plan of the investigation, collection of the samples, determination of the physical property parameters, quality evaluation and the method of information processing. Furthermore, it has provided a practical method of using the corraletion formula, obtained from on-the-spot survey data, to do the conversion between air-dried density and watersaturated density. It has also revealed the statistical data of density and magnetic capacity of the rocks in different time scales and different regions, according to on-the-spot surrey data of some 7000 density samples and more than 400 "prospecting points" of magnetic capacity, and their differentiation and variation being anal-ysied and studied. The statistical data and the conclusion can be used as the basis or reference for qualitative and quantitative explanations of anomalies of gravity and magnetic force in the South China Sea, especially in the Continental shelf.更多还原
