环丁砜在地面水中最高容许浓度的研究

【摘要】 作者对地面水中不同浓度的环丁砜进行了系统实验研究与现场调查。结果表明,环丁砜对水臭觉的实际阈浓度为10.6mg/L,对水的生化需氧过程无明显抑制作用,慢性毒性阈剂量为2.5mg/kg,最大无作用剂量为0.25mg/kg,无诱变性,280mg/kg无致畸性。据此,作者建议地面水中环丁砜的最高容许浓度为5mg/L,结合现场调查,认为该浓度是安全可行的。

【Abstract】 Sulfolane (Tetrahydro-thiophene 1, 1-dioxide), an excellent industrial solvent,can be used as a desulfurization agent inthe purification of natural gas. It isdischarged together with the effluent ofthe desulfurization plant into the riverand might cause health hazard. In orderto prevent environmental pollution, it isnecessary to establish a sanitary standardof sulfolane in surface water. An inves-tigation of the maximum allowable con-centration (MAC) of sulfolane in surfacewater was carried out as follows: 1. The effect of sulfolane on the or-ganoleptic properties (odour and taste) ofwater. 2. The effect of sulfolane on the pro-cess of self-purification of water(BODtest). 3. The general toxicity (acute, suba-cute and chronic), mutagenicity and tera-togenicity tests. The results of the above experimentsshowed that the lowest threshold value ofsulfolane affecting the organoleptic pro-perty (odour) of water amounted to 1.79mg/L and the practical threshold (actualpermissible limit) was 10.6 mg/L. Theconcentration of the agent in water ashigh as 4000 mg/L did not inhibit the pro-cess of biochemical oxygen demand(BOD)in comparison with that of the control. The LD50 were determined in acutetoxicity tests on white rats, mice andguinea pigs and found to be 2504, 2343 and1445 mg/kg respectively. The cumulative index on white ratswas greater than 7, i.e., there is no sig-nificant cumulative effect.Guinea pigs were chosen for the chron-ic toxicity experiment. Parameters includ-ing serology (9 items), hematology (6items) enzyme histochemistry and histo- pathology, etc.were examined.The chronicthreshold dose of sulfolane was 2.5 mg/kg,whereas the non-effective dose was 0. 25mg/kg. If the latter were extrapolated tothe human being, the MAC of sulfolane insurface water should be 5 mg/L. The results of Ames test, SCE analysisof lymphocytes in human peripheral bloodand the micronucleus test in mice were allnegative. The teratogenic effects of sulfo-lane on pregnant mice after oral administra-tion at doses of 93, 280 and 840 mg/kgwere observed, the skeletal changes werefound in 840mg/kg group,but no abnormalfindings in the 280 and 90 mg/kg groups. Based on the above results, a MAC ofsalfolane of 5 mg/kg in surface water issuggested according as to the toxicologicallimiting index.
