【Abstract】 The old metacarpophatangeal joint dislocation of index finger in 18 children were reported in this paper. In respect to etiology of this kind of dislocation, good results are not easily obtained by closed reduction. Consequently, all of the patients experienced unsuccessful reducation before they came to our hospital for operations. Normal function and anatomical structure of the metacarpophalangeal joint of index finger, the various deformity resulted from dislocation and the causes of difficult closed-reduction were expounded in this article. On follow-up, all cases were cured by means of operation with good functional recovery. Operation, however, may possibly lead to abnormal development of the epiphysis, which merits our attention更多还原
