【Abstract】 An earthquake rumor went around in the campus of the University for Overseas Chin- ese in Quanzhou,Fujian Province causing more than 700 students fleeing school for other cities to avoid the danger from a would-be earthquake during the last ten-days of Feb- ruary 1987,affecting the Hong Kong and Macao Areas,the Southeast Asian area and the coast cities of Fujian.Owing to timely refutation of the rumor,and careful and skilful arrangements,the rumor subsided in time and the fled students have come back succes- sively;thus the effects to society mitigated. 1.The paper“General Account of and Countermeasures against the Episode of‘Fleeing the Earthquake Danger’Caused by an Earthquake Rumor Which Went around in the Uni- versity for Overseas Chinese”outlines the whole story of the episode and its social respon- ses,the reasons of fleeing the earthquake danger,measures for refuting the earthquake rumor.Finally some enlightenment gained from the above-mentioned episode is summed up. 2.The paper“Feature Analysis of and Problem Ponderation from the Episode of‘Flee- ing the Earthquake Danger’Caused by an Earthquake Rumor Which Went around in the University for Overseas Chinese”,in conbination of the background conditions of the Fu- jian area,analyses the features of the episode,and discusses some problems being worth pondering through the episode.更多还原
