【Abstract】 The ferromanganese particles in the South China Sea are mainly distributed in the north and southwestern deep sea plains. The abundance of these particles ranges from 0.05 to 0.49%. The grain size of particles are generally between 0.063 and 0.25 mm. Thses particles consist mainly of oxide and hydroxide of ferromanganese which are presence as amorphous body, and also of clay and detrital minerals. Analyses show that the particles contains more than thirty elements, such as Mn, Fe, Cu, Co, Ni, Pb, Zn, Cr and Mo etc., of which Mn has the highest content. Based on the chemical composition of the particles and characteristics of sedimental environment, the source of the mineralizing material of the ferromanganese is discussed.更多还原
