【Abstract】 EBV membrane antigen was expressed from infected cells with recombi-nant vaccinia virus. As a diagnostic antigen, the presence of IgA antibody to membrane antigen of EBV was tested in sera from NPC patients, patients with tumors other than NPC and normal individuals. Our data indicate that gentic engineered EBV membrane antigen is specific, more sensitive and simpler than B95-8 cell line for the detection of IgA/MA antibodies in sera from different groups.
