【Abstract】 Using simplex dryer fabrics on a high speed paper machine assures the wet web to be closely adhering to the running fabric. Advantages claimed for employing dryer fabrics are: (1) reduction of web breaks at the initial stages of paper drying; (2) elimination of pockets between the web and the dryer surface, thus promoting even cross direction evaporation of the sheet; (3) maintaining cleaner dryer surface; (4) enhancement of cross direction paper strength; (5) less capital investment, lower production cost; and (6) elimination of web waving in pocket drying zones. The correct choice of simplex dryer fabrics for a specific paper grade should be carefully attended to. Furthermore, operation of doctors and suction boxes, temperature profile etc. must also be carefully adjusted.更多还原
