【Abstract】 Mitigated chlorite method was used to prepare holocellulose from Bagasse(Tai Sugar/134).A sequence of hot water, 1% KOH, 3%KOH, 5%KOH, 17.5%KOH, 24%KOH, and 17.5% NaOH with 4% boric acid was used for graded extraction. When the concentration of the alkali is increased to 5% KOH, the extracted yield of hemicellulose was about 70%;with alkali concentrations up to 17.5%, 90% yield of hemicellulose was extracted.The content of hemicellulose amounts to 43% in holocellulose or 35% in ethanol-benzene extracted bagasse. The DP of hemicellulose thus extracted is around 78-150. The contents of each extracted fraction and their mono-saccharide compositions as determined with Gas Chromatography show that bagasse hemicellulose is primarily composed of arabinoxylan with minor amounts of arabinogalactan, gluco-mannan, and galacto-glucomannan.更多还原
