【Abstract】 The optomotor reaction of young nile tilapia was studied and the charat-eristics of the reaction under various environmental illumination and screen rotary velocity were explored emphatically. The results showed that the young fish have a typical optomotor reaction. The response occurs in 10-5-10+41x, a wide range of illumination, and the reaction strengthens as the environmental illumination increases, but weakens when the screen rotary velocity and body length increase.
