【摘要】 本文以笔者的研究工作为基础,较为全面地讨论了联网机(gateway)的标准化测试技术:测试的必要性、测试内容和测试方法、测试数据(Test)的定义以及测试系统的组成。 文中讨论的三种测试联网机的基本方法已被国际标准化组织的相应机构ISO/TC 97/SC21接受为测试开放式互联网络中继系统(OSI Network Relay)的基本方法。笔者在自己的测试系统中采用了其中的两种方法,对英国两家计算机公司的联网机产品进行了较为全面的测试。 文中提出的“渡船”(Ferry)的概念对改进网络协议软件的标准化测试技术,解决现有各类测试系统中存在的问题,找到了新的途径。更多还原

【Abstract】 This paper concentrates on conformance testing techniques for gateways. Three basic testing approaches, i. e. the Separation Approach, the Transverse Approach and the Loop-back Approach are discussed in details. As a result of the author’s work on gateway testing, the three approaches have been adopted by ISO/TC 97/SC21 as the basic testing methods for OSI Network Relays.The author has thoroughly tested two gateway products from two British firms, with the Transverse and Loop-back Approaches. A new testing approach based on a novel concept called the "Ferry" is finally discussed in some details.Other aspects pertinent to gateway testing, such as the necessity of conformance testing, test classification, test definition, and the architecture of a gateway testing system are also briefly discussed.更多还原
