【Abstract】 Endoscopic and X-ray diagnosis of gastric cancer in 128 cases were compared.The accuracy of diagnosis with endoscopy is 94.5% as proved by operative patho-logy.Gastric cancer was misdiagnosed as benign ulcer in 2,eosinophilic granulomamisdiagnosed as gastric cancer in 1,and reticulosarcoma misdiagnosed as gastric cancerin 3.Eighty eight cases were examined with X-ray.The accuracy of diagnosiswith X-ray is 80.7%.Gastric cancer was misdiagnosed as gastric antritis in 2,asspastic antrum in 1,as duodenal diveticulum in 1,as duodenal ulcer in 5.Reticulo-sarcoma was misdiagnosed as gastric cancer in 3,and negative findings were reportedin 2 cases.The causes of misdiagnosis with endoscopy are the difficulties in distinguishinggastric cancer,reticulosarcoma and eosinophilic granuloma;the difficulties in diffe-rentiating a benign or malignant lesion;and the inadequacy of experience of theendoscopist.However,it can still be conduced that in the diagnosis of gastric cancer,endos-copic approach is superior to X-ray,and both method in combination were prefer-able,if available.更多还原
