【Abstract】 A new equilibrium cell is designed for the determination of activity coefficients at infinite dilution by inert gas stripping and gas chroma-tography. The structure of the new cell,its evaluation and application are described in detail. A presaturation cell is setting in front of the equilibrium cell to suppress evaporation of the solvent in it, thus keeping the weight of solvent constant.The reliability of the experimental results are confirmed by determining the limiting activity coefficients of n-hexane in N-methyl pyrrolidoae and ethanol in toluene.
