【Abstract】 The Chinese drug "LIN XIAO HUA" specified in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 1977 edition is the dried flower of Campsis grandiflora (Thunb.) K. Schum., family Bignoniaceae. However, another plant of the genus Campsis as well as some plants of the genus Paulownia, family Sorophulariaoeae, are also used under the name "LIN XIAO HUA" in certain districts in China.The present paper reports the results of comparative morphological and histological studies of the dried flowers from two Campsis species, viz. C. grandiflora (Thunb.)K. Sohum. and G. radicans (L.) Seems, and those from three Paulownia Species, viz. P- fortunei (Seem.) Hemsl., P. elongata S. Y. Hu and P. tomentosa (Thunb.) Steud.. The diagnostic characters of these five crude drugs are shown in Tables 1 and 2 with illustrations.It is pointed out that the dried flowers from the genus of Paulownia should not be used as "LIN XIAO HUA"更多还原
