【Abstract】 Presents two preprocessing methods for finger-print image. The first method adopts dynamic threshold to detect the threads of finger-print, and gives the bilevel image directly. The second method consits of three pro cedures: first eliminates low frequeucy grey level disturbance by use of local statistics, then enhances the threads of finger-print and attenuates high frequency noise by matching masks, finally transforms the image into bilevel version.
