【Abstract】 A review has been made by the author on his previous recognition of the law of variation of the longitudinal profile of the lower Yellow River. A brief account has been made on the morphological regularity of the sustained accumulation along the longitudinal profile and its mode of variation. Envisagement on improvement of the lower Yellow River in the near future has been dealt with in principle, in accordance with the three factors affecting the longitudinal profile, the oncoming streamflow and sadiment load, erosion datum and boundary conditions of the river. Discussions are also carried out on the different opinions on law of variation of the longitudinal profile of the lower Yellow River, and envision of river improvement based on the aforesaid.更多还原
