【Abstract】 This paper deals with a new specices of the genus Paparbotia fromJiangxi. The new specices is described as follows Parabotia kiangsiensis, sp. Nov. (fig.) Holotype: No 815181, 815326 total length 136--161mm. standard length107--130 mm. Paratype: No 840512, 840513 total length 133--139 mm. stan-dard length 101--107mm. Collocted from Sm River. Kept in the Departmentof Biology, Jiangxi university. Description D. 4,9; A. 3,5; P. 1,13; V. 1, 7. Vertebrae 4+36. Depth 4.6(4.2--4.9) in standard length, head 4.7(4.6--4.9), lengthof caudal peduncle 8.8(8.7--8.9), its depth 6.6(6.5--6.9). Snout 2.2(2.0--2.3) in head, eye 5.5(5.4--5.8), interobital space 3.1(3.0--3.3). Depth ofcaudal peduncle 0.7(0.6--0.8) in its length. The new species is similar to member of the Parabotia lijiangensis. Butits lower lip differs from the latter in having a indistict v-shaped gap inthe centre of frontal edge, two extensive flaky lateral lobes, and a freeback edge. Its eyes are comparatively large. The depth of caudal pedun-cle larger than its length.更多还原
