【Abstract】 This paper deals with two new species of Aeolothrips Haliday. The type specimens are preserved in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, Beijing, China.Aeolothrips xizangensis sp. nov. (Plate 1: a-c)Similar to Aeolothrips intermedius Bagnall 1934 but differs in: metanotum with several transverse lines on fore margin, with median sculptured transverse reticulum curved forward, with longitudinal lines on lateral and metaplural area.’ ’However me-tanotum of A. intermedius with median sculptured favose reticulum.Holotype (), paratypes (3): on Hemiptelea davidii, 28. The head longer ( 215.0, 194.0u in length), a little longer than prothorax (head as long as prothorax 1.2:1, cf 1:1), the antennal segment III stouter ( 5.6, 5.0 times as long as wide), the fore wings wider ( 7.9, 7.5 times as long as wide), dark brown bands a little longer; in the male the fore tibiae a little paler, all tarsi brown, with dark brown sclerotized lateral patches on abdominal tergites III-VI, with brown sclerotized lines before patches of tergite V and on fore margin of tergite VII laterally. But in A. kurosawai, the head shorter ( 207.0, 182.0 in the length), 1.1: () and 1.0: l() head as long as prothorax, the antennal segment III slender ( 5.9, 5.7 times as long as wide), the fore wings narrower ( 8.6, 8.3 times as long as wide), dark brown bands a little shorter too; in male with fore tibiae and all tarsi pale, only abdominal segments IV-VI with datrk brown selerotized lateral patches at posterior margins dorsally.Holotype (): on wheat, 10.
