【Abstract】 In this paper a revision of the Chinese species of Calamus is presented. Mainly baseed on the characters of the clawed spines on the ra-chises of leaves and inflorescences or in the prolongated appendices of them which is known as Cirri or Flagelia. The genus is divided into three subgen-era: Subgen. Protocalamus, Subgen. Calamus and Subgen. Rhachicirrus. According to the feature of albumen and inflorescence, these subgenera hare again been divided into five sections, i. e. Sect, Calamus, Sect. Heterosta-chyus, Sect. Aulacospermus, Sect. Brevicirrosus and Sect. Phyllanthectus, including 29 species, among which there are four new species, three new subspecies, seven new distributional record and one doubtful species. In addition, the significance of the characters, which our classification are based on and the evolutionary trends of the genus Calamus are discussed.更多还原
