【Abstract】 This paper reports the result of nasal cauterization with Mousell’s solution for control of epistaxis in 294 cases from May 1982～March 1984. There were 182 males and 112 females.ranging in ages from 3～76 years. The commonest cause of epistaxis was inflammation of the nose(82 per cent). Other causes included deviation of the nasal septum, hypertension and trauma of the nose.In this present series, the sites of blee- ding were found mostly in the anteroinferior part of the nasal cavities(95 per cent), in 80 per cent of the patients the bleedingspots were found in the Little’s area of the nasal septum.All of these 294 cases were treated in our hospital with Mousell’s solution, which is simple and effective hamostatic agent.更多还原
