【Abstract】 Two main saponins A3 and B4 were isolated from the chinese medicnial herb, Pulsatilla chinensis regel(bai-tou-weng), by extraction with ethyl ace- tate and n-butanol respectively. B. is a bisdemoside and its structure prima- rily established as 3-0-[rhamnosyl and arabinosyl]-28-0-glucoside (and pos- sibly with an additional rhamnosyl unit)of 3β, 23-dihydroxy lup-20(29)-en- 28-oic acid by spectra1 data" and chemical method.
