【Abstract】 In this paper, the analyses are made on the data of leveling measurements done from January 1972 to December 1982 and the data of base-line measurements carried out from June 1979 to December 1982 along the Heizi fault in Xinjiang region. The results indicate that the leveling and base-line measurement data show distinct potential variations while compared with the background regular annual changes. The calculations give 0.14 mm/year for the vertical displacement of this fault, 0.48 mm/year for the horizontal displacement, and 37℃ for the sliding angle, with left-lateral com-pressdve torsional movemet. It is also suggested that the recent motions of the fault have inherited the features of the movements since the neotectonic motion, and the directions of principal compressive stress axes are in agreement with the average azy-muths of P axes for some moderate earthquakes which occurred in the past two decades or more nearby the Kuche depression zone.更多还原
