【Abstract】 The Luquan earthquake (Ms=6.3) occured at 102°51"’E, 25°50’N on April 18, 1985, is a typical continental shallow earthquakes with a focal depth of only 5 km. Except a large background of characteristic changes in solar activity before the shock, the seismicity level of moderate shocks around the Luquan area had also obviously increased. In the short-term and impending stage, frequent intrusion of strong weather systems on the ground surface and the enhancement of celestial-body gravitation concerned might excite the final failure of the earthquake-preparation medium. The authors, therefore, consider that the Luquan earthquake (Ms.=6.3) is caused by the step-by-step enhancement and superposition of both internal and external forces in this area in the recent years prior to the event.更多还原
