【Abstract】 In this paper, the conservation equation of potential vorticity is used to obtain KDV and MKDV equation for nonlinear Rossby waves eatisf’ied in baroclinic atmosphere .Their solutions are cnoidal waves and solitary waves,the properties of these waves are discussed.we used properties of Rossby solitary waves to explain some important weather phenomena (polar vortex, blocking high and cut off low,etc.)。更多还原
