【Abstract】 Measurements of ascorbic acid concertration in the serumof lung cancer patients, cor - pulmonale patients and persons in normal health were made. The mean value of ascorbic acid level in the serum of lung cancer patients was much lower than that of normals, but not significantly dyfferent from that of cor -pulmonale patients. The same results were obtained when the smoking factor was controlled. It is possible that low ascorbic acid level in the serum of cor-pulmonale patients is a risk factor for lung cancer.1 .
