【Abstract】 10 patients with leiomyosarcoma of the rectum were admitted to the Affiliated Tumor Hospital, Zhongshan Medical College, in 20 years from 1964 to 1984, being 1.5 per cent of all malignant tumors of the rectum. These patients are characterized by older age, longer duration and an elastic or hard solid mass located in the middle or lower section of the rectum. The data show that combined abdominoperineal resection is the only-successful method of treating rectal leiomyosarcoma because the reccurrence rate is high following local excision.A brief discussion with literatures review is made.更多还原
