【Abstract】 The following operative procedure has been used for reconstruction of vagina since 1963 with good nesults: 1. Patiant in lithotomy position, a catheter is placed in the urethra. 2. A Y-shaped incision is made within the introitus,. 3. A vaginal canal is formed by blunt scissors and finger dissection. 4. Two single pedicled flaps from the labia minoris aod majoris on each side of the introitus are formed. 5. Edges of the 2 labial flaps are sutured together forming a skin tube with a blind end (like a condom). If the diameter of the tube is not sufficient, a split thickness skin graft may be placed between the two flaps. 6. The skin tube is inserted into the dissected vaginal canal with its raw surface facing the wall of the canal. 7. The newly formed vagina is packed carefuly with iodoform gauze which is removed 10 days postoperatively. 8. Doner stie wounds are closed by direct suturing. The procedure described has been performed on 41 patients successfully. The longest follow-up case is now 3 years, the new vagina possesses the desirable characteristics of sensibilty, softness, pliability and durability.更多还原
